Entry 9: Heartfire 3, 3E433
It is early morning now and it is time for me to enter yet another entry. I am writing this entry from inside of the Aleswell Inn. Here are the events that happened this day:
After eight hours rest, I left Bleaker’s Way behind me and continued my journey south along the Red Ring Road. Outside of the Sercen Ayleid ruins, I was attacked by multiple bandits. Blessed be Akatosh, I emerged victorious. Unable to tolerate such lawlessness, I entered the ruins. Inside, I ended the immoral lives of the bandits, including their ringleader.
I have never known much about the ancient civilization of the Ayleid’s, but from what I could discern from the architecture of the ruins, was that they were magnificent builders. In addition, the presence of magic still lingered behind in the ruins as was evident by the blue Welkynd Stones.
From my studies with my great grandfather, Jaleel, I know that Welkynd Stones were able to rejuvenate my inner magicka. With this knowledge, I collected about eight of these stones and left the ruins.
I continued my journey west along the Red Ring Road and stopped at the small village of Aleswell. Immediately, I noticed that the village seemed deserted and void of life. Although the sun had set, the absence of animals alarmed me. After I entered the Aleswell Inn though, my fears were alleviated.
Slightly.
On first glance, the Inn also seemed deserted. But then a voice spoke to me and I could tell that the source of the voice was standing before me. After blinking my eyes, the person quickly explained. The Innkeeper said that the entire population of the village, including the animals, had turned invisible about two weeks ago. They all blamed a wizard who lived in nearby Fort Caractacus.
Agreeing to investigate the matter, I immediately headed to the fort that was just to the south of the village. Upon my arrival, I heard a man yelling at me, telling me to leave him alone. Calling upon a spell that would allow me to detect life, I found the man and spoke with him. Ancotar was the wizard’s name and he did not seem too happy to see me. After listening to the wizard talk about his research, I explained what had happened to Aleswell. With a little persuasion, Ancotar provided me a magic scroll that would reverse the effects of the invisibility.
Before returning to Aleswell, I ventured inside of Fort Caractacus and encountered a conjurer who had summoned several daedra from Oblivion. Needless to say, the fort has been cleansed and another evil spirit has been sent to the gods for judgment.
After leaving the fort, I quickly returned to Aleswell, cast the spell and every thing was normal again. The people of Aleswell thanked me and I was surprised for the owners of the Inn were Dunmer.
